TRAIN WRECK. 12 May 2009

train wreck

Hey Lithers and new clients:  We LOVE our new clients and referrals but please remember our policies and our program!  Let us treat and train you right.

Please do not bring or recommend your newbie friends who have not taken the Immersion or at least a few of our 101 classes to Lithe Method band classes!  (SplitHigher Power , Waspie and A-List Abs on Sat).

It's a liability for us and THEM/YOU. Not only do you/they not have the knowledge or the deep core strength needed for our band classes, Newbie's with no immersion do not know our basic bio-mechanical principals (how to slide your shoulders down, tuck-squeeze, breathe the Lithe way, imprint or know what neutral is) and can seriously injure themselves.

We don't want any injuries, please.  We pride ourselves on not injuring people!  Remember that our regular level classes are not geared towards beginners.

Do everyone a favor and recommend the Immersion or the 101 or something band-less : ) The Immersion is a serious workout AND we teach you how to use all of our equipment and how to Lithe correctly so that you/they can really get the results that you/they want .

NO IMMERSION (OR AT LEAST 2 CLASSES OF THE IMMERSION) OR 101?  NO BAND CLASSES. NO EXCEPTIONS.

So glad you posted about this. With no immersion or 101, any of the band classes could be dangerous. An injury waiting to happen.

thanks for posting this! Not only is it potentially dangerous for newbies to try the advanced classes without the proper training, it also slows down and breaks the rhythm of the class for the seasoned lithers when our patient instructors stop to correct form and technique!

So True. This is what sets Lithe apart from all the other workouts and studios out there. Unlike other studios who repeat the same workout over and over and over--and where anyone at any level can jump in at any time, Lithe is a program that levels YOU. If you're a seasoned lither, you should be challenged and should never have a newbie slowing your class down and if you're a newbie, you're taught how to lithe correctly in a layered way and worked at a proper level so that they body isn't boot-camped and shocked. You won't see results any other way and who wants to be discouraged? Lithe is constantly changing and progressing and sure, you'll pay a couple of dollars more per class for a proprietary method that works, but you're also paying a little more for great teachers who have worked with you from day 1 and know your body, limits and limitations. I digress...My biggest peeve is having to slow a regular class down for a beginner with no immersion background who has no clue as to what they are doing. Without the Immersion or the 101, beginners have no clue how to modify and what our modifications are...And boy do beginners need those modifications!

I have experienced this several times this week alone. Please know your level and stick to classes that cater to it. You will much more successful now and in the long run.
