BUT, WHY? 23 Oct 2008

Rds097261

So you've asked and wondered why we always start our Lithe Method workouts with the abdominal work?  Well, for one it is so important that you don't neglect your abs EVER (for musculature development and injury prevention).  Every movement that we do initiates from the core, so we heat it up and work it out and exhaust it so that we're centered and we have them covered within the first 20 minutes.

When I developed the Lithe Method, I really took into account the fact that so many people hate doing ab work and so many workouts do abdominal work at the end of the hour/class or not at all.  Personally, I feel that it's mean, horrible and downright wrong to wait until the very end; when your extremities and connective muscles are exhausted and you're more apt to skip out of class during that last dreaded 10 to 15 minutes.

So there you have it...it's part methodology and part psychology.
